As the last light of the day.
Behind the horizon fades away.
The ice starts to sing and play.
Don’t walk the ice alone, ha de Gött!

I found this amazing and beautiful structure in the little hut we have in the forest. It’s a Hornets nest from last summer. The hornets chew wood to create paper that is clued together with their saliva. They prefer to build in dark places like hollow trees but can also build in houses.
The European hornet (Vespa crabro), Bålgeting in Swedish, is a rather large insect. The queen can be from 25 up to 35 mm in length, while the worker hornets are between 18 and 28 mm where the male workers are slightly larger. Only the female possess a stinger including the queen. The European hornet is carnivorous and eat other insects, including other wasps.
The European hornet generally avoids conflict but if stepped on or grabbed it will sting. It is also defensive of its nest and around food sources. The sting will hurt but if you’re not sensitive it’s not dangerous. Only the queen survives the winter and wakes up in May when she starts to build a new nest.
Don’t poke around others nests, it will sting. Ha de Gött!

Ljus letar sig ner till bäcken.
Genom skogens täta grenar.
Leker tafatt med skuggan.
English version
Light makes its way down to the brook.
Through the forest’s dense branches.
Playing tag with the shadow.
You never know what’s hidden if you don’t look, ha de Gött!

With a light promise
of the spring to come
the anthill sleeps on
Even a little ants bite stings, ha de Gött!

Looks a bit angry looking out over the sea.
Angry at the ocean for splashing it over again and again?
Angry at the humans for polluting the sea?
Don’t let your anger sink you, ha de Gött!

Some places fills you with calm, this is one of mine.
I can sit there, out of the wind and just listen to the sounds.
Waves breaking and swooshing up the beach.
The clicking of the colourful stones.
As they struggle to stay on as the water runs back to the sea.
Just to collect new energy.
Do the same again, but never ever the same.
Remember to stop so you can find your place, ha de Gött!

Does the universe care
how many turns our globe make
where it starts and ends
Is time circular by nature
or a man made invention
to control us
Have we lost sight of the natural state
of the seasons rhythm, darkness and light
to become slaves of the logic of the clock
Listening to the demanding brass bells toll
closing our ears to Mother Nature's gentle chimes
fools to tools and hijacked Faith
Another calendar year
a blank page of fear and hope
while the universe pulsates
Swedish Version
Spelar det Universum någon roll
hur många varv vår glob gör
var det börjar eller slutar
Är tiden cirkulär till sin natur
eller har människan gjort den sådan
för att kontrollera oss
Har vi tappat kontakten med det naturliga
årstidernas rytm, ljus och mörker
för att bli slavar under tidens logik
Lyssnar till klockslagens krävande dån
sluter våra öron för Moder Naturs milda klang
slavar under verktyg och kapad Tro
Ytterligare ett kalenderår
ett blankt papper av oro och hopp
medan Universum pulserar
I hope the new year will restore faith and hope in mankind, ha de Gött!

Not 50 but this title might lure the search engines so my blog gets some more hits. Not my intention but the weather this Christmas has been grey and colourless so the title is fits.
Still I went to the beach but, even if the temperature in the water is the same as in the air, +5°C, I didn’t go for a swim. Still a good walk along the sea after all the Christmas food and candy before I start to look like Santa.
Grey is also a colour, ha de Gött!
