I had the beach all to my self. Light clouds, some wind, zero degrees in the air. A bit warmer in the water with 5°C. Care for a swim?
Nice with sand between the toes, ha de Gött!

Another storm is on its way in. This time with temperature around zero it will be heavy wet snow. Well it’s like the golfers say, “there is no bad weather only poor clothing”.
Even behind the darkest skies the sun is shining, ha de Gött!

The islands Store Stacken, near and Stora Hummerholmen in the background. Storm keep coming more often than the bus.
Hold on to your hat, ha de Gött!

Got my new lens today and I had to test it in the last evening light. Still strong winds and waves from last nights storm. The storms has been rolling over us the last weeks like trains on a schedule. Clouds rolled in and I was afraid to loose light entirely, but mother nature was only preparing this scene.
Darkness is just another side of light, ha de Gött!

It has been quite windy the past weeks. Wind and waves brings driftwood to the beaches. Sadly other things also washes ashore. Life started in the oceans and from a fish that one day decided that walking is hip, we all originates. This kinship is clear in the fact that we spend our first nine months in water. We are to 60% water. Throwing plastic garbage in the ocean is like shoving it up the womb of our mother.
Treat your mother right, ha de Gött!

Two pictures from this weekend storm. The power of the wind literately took my breath away. I had to find shelter behind a rock or sit so I didn’t fall in the water.
Stand firm, ha de Gött!

Today it appeared to me. Rose up in the roaring storm. In all its glory. Whipped up by the wind and waves. For just a brief moment.
Splashed with its tail in anger. Casts the evil eye on humanity. Roaring a plead. Stop using my home as a dump.

We should be ashamed, ha de Gött!

Black Tang, Blåstång in Swedish, (Fucus vesiculosus) waiting for the tide to come back in. Must be a celebrity in the English speaking world. Wikipedia suggests nine different names and a nick name. Here we go, try to remember them all tomorrow. Black tang, bladder wrack, rock weed, bladder fucus, sea oak, cut weed, dyers fucus, red fucus, rock wrack and the nick name sea grapes.
Now this is almost like a Monty Python scene. Try not to laugh, dyers fucus, red fucus, bladder fucus. How easy for the non native English speaker to pronounce wrong here and loose all credibility in the Oceanic Society key note speech. The evening visit to the hotel bar might turn out lucky or just a boring conversation about bladder control.
Seriously, don’t take things too serious, ha de Gött!

Ocean so blue and calm. Gentle and still for recreation and fun. Rock you in the rolling waves. Invites to sit and listen to the sound of silence. Only broken by a screaming seagull. A boat passing by. Fishermen out to harvest the rich gifts of the giant blue. Smell the salty breeze, filling your lungs. Fill you with life itself.

There it stands, proud in on a tiny rock. The Väcker lighthouse. Tall to be seen and give ample warning. Lights the way in the night. Green and red. Be sure to choose wisely. Proud to show its rusty scars. Scars from salt splashing winds.

Roaring and wild. Incited by the wind. The howling strong wind. Bashing the waves against everything in its way. Try to stand, and wind will push you down. Splash saltwater in your face. Winds howling, drowns the seagulls screams. Pray that all has found a safe harbor. Give and take. Be sure to show respect.
Just a few days between the pictures. Ha de Gött!
