Freeze for a moment, ha de Gött!

It was not really a good day for photography but I wanted to check out a new area, Valön nature preserve. Just a 40 minutes drive from home but I had never been there. With safety in mind I thought best explore in daylight. There was some high thin clouds as I set out that I hoped would filter the harsh sun a bit but they cleared as I arrived. There was a 2 km walk from the parking lot down to the water front. I’m glad I went out! Poseidon had a spectacular show ongoing and I got some great photos. Do check my Instagram for more. To quote Arnold “I’ll be back”.
Don’t give up until you tried, ha de Gött!

Alder trees leaning over the cold water. Or are they trying to hang on? Enningdalselva, Norway.
Lean on, but don’t lean to heavy. Ha de Gött!

Today was all about fast flowing water after a week with heavy rain and melting snow. I took a tour into Norway and the river Berbyelva. There was snow left on the river bank making it slippery. Dense vegetation so it was a bit of challenge to get clear shots. After walking in the still deep snow I found a spot to get some good shots playing with shutter speed.
Better to move safe than gracefully, ha de Gött!

Little lonely shed
backlit and red
on a cliff in the cold
what stories has been told
over fireplace glowing bed
True or false, a story is a story best told. Ha de Gött!

Got to rush, ha de Gött!

I struck gold!
The proof that Mother Nature rewards patience, and proper clothing. It was a cloudy and ice cold day but still not complete overcast. With promising rifts of light I set out in the cold hoping for some magic light. As the sun was setting it suddenly lit up the red granite cliff, for just a few minutes.
I struck gold!
All that glitters is not gold, ha de Gött!

After a cold winter the waterfall has frozen and been covered with snow.
It’s good to sometimes cool down and stop, ha de Gött!
