The evasive owl. I have heard it so many times and last week I saw it sitting high up in a pine. Unfortunately I didn’t bring the camera. So I spent a few hours last weekend to find it again. To taunt me I could hear it’s characteristic ho-ho in the hills.
Today was my lucky day! After quite some time hearing it I decided to imitate the sound. Well it is spring so soon it appeared. With the zoom at maximum 250 mm I got this picture with the light coming from wrong direction.
This is a rare and majestic bird called Eurasian Eagle-Owl (Bubo bubo). It is one of the largest owls. The wings can be up to a half meter. It likes the hills and forest in the area and builds its nest in the hills. Pollution and egg thieves has made it be endangered of extinction.
Hope you like, subscribe and comment, ho-ho. Ha de Gött!
What a greap opportunity to catch this owl in this great picture Ulle.
