What sort of wood is common for fence posts in Sweden? Australia is very proud of its super hard hardwoods like ironbark. They cope well in the harsh world of fencing. But of course even some of them burnt away to nothing in the fires leaving black holes.

Mostly fir or pine treated with a chemical. Some use the more expensive oak that requires no chemicals.
