Hieroglyphs

Secret message written on the rock. A message from mother nature to take better care of her. Like spoiled children we ask for more, more, more. But she is blue, the only one in the solar system.

Mark

Mark

The navigation mark ‘Vakupp’ in sunset. I left work early today to make time for some photos. Finally after several weeks of clear skies there were some clouds. Clouds just brings more life to a picture. Wind is picking up and I got that fantastic splash as a bonus.

Mark the way to the light, ha de Gött!

Sky drama

Sky drama

The navigation mark ‘Ulsholms Kalv’ in sunset. After a day with an absolutely clear sky these dramatic clouds appeared.

Sun in place like a whole note on the staff . Birds sing out the last tune of the evening. All is lined up for the evening drama.

(I hope I got the music terms correct. Whole note is according to Wikipedia, American English and the British English term is semibreve.)

Stay in line, ha de Gött!

Pilots lookout

Pilots lookout

On the highest point of the island Hällsö, 42 meters over the sea sits the small pilot hut. In this hut the pilots could sit in a warm place shielded from the weather scouting for ships in need of assistance. The station served pilots that guided ships through the dangerous waters outside Tjurpannan. The pilot station was operational until 1960. Hällsö is situated outside Havstenssund, separated by the 40 meter narrow strait, ‘Sunnegapet’.

We all need help to navigate sometimes, ha de Gött!
